Jose Mujica Offers To House 100 Syrian Refugee Children
Few may know him - and it's probably likely you haven't, Jose Mujica is one of the most unsung heroes of our lifetimes. The humble Uruguayan Ex President (his term came to an end in March 2015) has been donating to charity and helping those in need throughout his whole term in power, and continues to do so in the face of the Syrian refugee crisis - and has announced he is offering to house 100 Syrian children who are looking for somewhere to take shelter.
Often called the 'poorest president' he lives very simply on his farm and keeps to himself - however it is easily commendable that he is rich in spirit and humility, and his attempts to soften the refugee crisis has once again shown that life is much more important to him than money.
The children are planned to arrive there around mid-September, each will travel with a guardian. Mujica is somewhat of a celebrity to those aiming towards peace and bringing peace to the world - and with a move like that, his support will only be doubled.
